Owner Robert Schubert was building on the tradition of spectacular organically grown vegetables when he purchased 10 acres of Wheatland Farms from DC farmers market veterans Chip and Susan Planck in 2012. Lydia’s Fields, named for a cherished family member, is located just north of Route 7, off the Berlin Turnpike.

In its first season at Courthouse, Lydia’s Fields quickly became a go-to stop for shoppers wanting delicious heirloom tomatoes, arugula, lettuce, turnips, beets, squash and other greens. In 2013, Schubert, field manager Rochelle Bellin, and market manager Marsha Johnston expect to provide Arlington customers an even wider variety of tomatoes, herbs and other vegetables, as well as some fruit.
